Oh my God. I don't know where to start.
This book is about Chira Kelly, a tall girl with a douche stepfather and one single best friend. She's normal. She thought she's okay with only Tasha, her best friend, in her side. She thought she doesn't need anyone else. Until she met the mysterious new boy Ben. The seniors decided to check out the haunted old school, and when Tasha begged Chira to join her and the seniors, she had no other choice but to except. Not knowing that it would be the beginning of something terrifying. Something evil.
The story in general was really interesting. It's a story about ghosts, yet it's not solely about terrifying people with ghost sudden sightings. There's also the interesting theories, one thing that I love about this book. Then there's also the characters.
Chira! love her. No, don't be fooled by that scared looking girl on the cover. Not only because of the cool and unusual name, she faced her enemies with head held high. She had a bad reputation and gossips about her and she was all like "I don't give a f*ck" and it was awesome. God I love her. If I were a boy, I would marry her. And then there is the super mysterious, hot, and sweet Ben Oscuro. Again with the amazing name. I think I just fell in love at the first sight. [input my major-fangirling face here] He is mysterious, the quiet type. And he had an owl named Steve! Every time he called Steve and the bird was like flying directly to him I was like "He is so cool" Okay! enough with the swooning (even though a cute guy with an owl in his shoulder is really cool). Ben didn't start off with a good background, he was the son of the Gypsy and for a reason, he was forced to move from relative to relative since his mother died. He kept things to himself because he's scared if he talks about stuff, people would judge him. As I said before, at first he was all this mysterious guy then when you get to know him, he's still mysterious but with the addition of care and sweetness.
The writing style is another point why I loved this book. The plot flows really well, even though at certain point (when the conflict climaxes to be exact) it felt a bit rushed, but it was a tiny ant compared to my positive points about this book. So it doesn't matter. LOVE.
