John Dreamer

Andy wasn’t usually sure about much, but she was absolutely certain this was the weirdest day of her life as she stood stranded in the middle of a great white room with six strangers. Well, they were mostly strangers. She could have sworn she’d seen the guy with the green eyes before, and maybe that was why he kept staring at her.

When a man calling himself the Guardian appeared and said they had come to make their deepest dreams come true, they embark on an adventure none of them ever imagined, and the consequences of their actions would change them forever.

"John Dreamer" is the first in a series of books set in the confines of the Great White Room.

I don't know what to say. I feel so bad because I received this book a while back (erm last year) and I just finally manage to upload a review for it now. (I write notes when I read so this is legit I promise) I am honoured to be able to get this book from netgalley, so first, thank you.

I was really intrigued by the cover (guilty) and the blurb. The blurb! read it! super interesting. Yet I'm sad to say that the story is not as interesting as I expected. I have to say the concept of the story is really promising, yet the writing style just doesn't work for me. I find the characters, especially the narrator to feel quite flat for some reason. In this book, we basically delve into each character's story yet I don't know why I fail to connect to any of them, I don't know if it's me or the book.

And the romance. My favourite part of any story. I usually don't care about insta-love, but in this case, I care. It took the main protagonist eight and a half seconds to fall in love, Ms. Elise just took insta-love to a whole new level. And then there's the ending, I don't know what to feel.

Overall, I am kinda disappointed in the book, maybe because I expected more after reading the blurb? You might feel differently about this book, so I won't stop you if you wanna give this book a try.
